The Beauty of Mt. Samat
“There is no love without hope, no hope without love, neither love nor hope without faith” by St. Augustine of Hippo. Mt. Samat is the tallest mountain in Capalonga, located at Barangay Alayao, Capalonga, Camarines Norte. The summit offers a 360 view of both ocean and terrain. A perfect place for star gazing, sunset and sunrise watching also the City lights at night (Jose Panganiban). Mt. Samat is also a home for series of waterfalls! In just 1 hr of walking you can see the Mt. Samat Summit without the waterfalls, however, if with waterfalls you’ll spend 4-8 hours. It’s not too difficult to climb and good for beginners. Also, it this mountain is rich with undiscovered ferns, orchids, and other trees.
Before you get there, you’ll see the old ruins. The ruins in Brgy. Alayao, Capalonga, are remnants of the town’s, reflecting its cultural heritage influenced. These structures serve as a testament to the architectural styles and community life during earlier time, attracting both history enthusiasts and tourists. Visitors to the area can appreciate the scenic beauty surrounding the ruins, which enhances the experience of exploring this historical site.
Mt. Samat is also home of waterfalls, were you can take a picture with vibrant nature and wild animals like birds, rat, wild chicken and roaster. The waterfalls in Brgy. Alayao, Capalonga, at Mt. Samat are a stunning natural attraction, featuring several picturesque cascades like Francisco Falls, which is known for its crystal-clear waters and scenic surroundings. These waterfalls offer visitors a refreshing escape, with options for swimming and enjoying the serene beauty of the area. Accessible through short treks, they are well-maintained by local communities, making them an ideal spot for adventure and relaxation in nature.
It's also good for viewing a sunrise and sunset were you can see it's wonderful beauty. The sunrise and sunset at Mt. Samat in Capalonga provide breathtaking views that draw visitors to experience the beauty of nature. Friendly Reminder:
Make sure to buy your own foods before climbing the mountain in the groceries store in Alayao (near highway), because there is no food supply. The only available in there was buko (a young coconut) were you can but them in the land in different prices. Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time.
